Offenders appear to be the killers of Claire, but the leader of the gang, a young woman, accurately responds to the description of the murdered girl. The sheriff checks that the corpse of the girl is not buried in her tomb, and then recruits several men to go in search of the group that has already begun to be feared and legendary in the region.
They call them "the band of Claire's ghost."

***

Two bullets for Claire is a story of puzzles rather than ghosts. The disappearance of the corpse of the murdered girl together with the irruption of the leader of the assailants cannot be casual, but in the eyes of Sheriff Bennet it isn’t something supernatural. Nevertheless the explanations that appear from everywhere go in that sense, from the theory of Father Kelsey who speaks of tormented souls that return to collect accounts pending, until the one of Sorcerer Makuma who claims that the body of the young woman has been taken by the God of theWind to punish the men of law for having failed to impart justice. But Bennet refuses to accept insane theories and is willing to get to the truth, even if the price is too bloody.
